xx Marvin teaches Sixth Sense xx

In this amazing trick, you ask a spectator to place a small cube inside a box and put the lid on top, so that no one can see inside. Amazingly, you can still tell which picture is on top of the cube.

Secret: To perform, hand out the box and cube. Have a spectator secretly place the cube inside the box and note which picture is on top. While this is happening, you should have your back to the audience so that you cannot see the cube or the box!

Have the spectator return the box to you behind your back, then turn around to face the audience. Keep the box behind your back while you do this. With the box hidden from view, secretly take off the lid and replace it on the side of the box. Now bring the box back into view, making sure that the audience does not see the open side.

With the cube visible through the open side of the box, you can secretly peek at the chosen picture. The rest of this trick is pure showmanship as you pretend to read the spectator’s mind and name the chosen picture!

SIXTH SENSE ADVANCED

To add another layer of mystery to the Sixth Sense trick, you can ask the spectator to secure the lid in place with an elastic band.

Secret: Follow the routine as previously described. However, after the spectator places the cube inside the box, hand them an elastic band and ask them to wrap it around the box to hold the lid on tightly.

Have the box returned to you behind your back. When you turn around, secretly move the lid to the side position as normal. You will find that the elastic band will stretch to allow you to do this easily.

You can now carry on with the routine, with the band wrapped around the box.
