INCREDIBLE BLOCK ESCAPE

Two chosen blocks, locked in a magic box, magically pass right though a solid spike!

Secret: For this trick, you will need the mini spike, the small hinged box and the six coloured blocks. Display the blocks inside the box and secure them in place with the mini spike. The spike passes through the holes in the middle of each block and each side of the box.

Demonstrate to your audience that the blocks are secured and cannot fall out, even when the box is held upside-down. Remove the spike, tip out the blocks and ask someone to choose two of the coloured blocks. Put the blocks back into the box, but secretly replace the two chosen blocks sideways, instead of lengthways. Be careful that your audience does not see this!

When the lid is closed, it is possible to see all the coloured blocks through the holes in the lid. No one will know that the two chosen blocks are sideways.

Push the spike through the box until it comes out at the other side. You can now turn over the magic box and allow the two chosen blocks to fall out – apparently passing right through the spike!
This is an amazing and colourful magic trick. Not only are two blocks apparently passing through the solid spike, but they are also the two chosen blocks!
