MYSTERIOUS MIND POWER

Five cards are shown and a spectator is asked to remember one of them. Apparently using mysterious ‘mind power’, you will be able to select the chosen card that the spectator merely thought of!

Secret: Four of the five cards are faked. Look at these cards and you’ll notice they have two suits – one at each end!

To perform, hold the cards with the ordinary Jack of Hearts at the front. Fan the cards out and ask a spectator to memorise one card. Face the cards towards you, shuffle them and take out the Jack of Hearts and place it face down on the table.

Fan the remaining cards again, but secretly turn the cards end for end so that the other suits are showing. Display the cards to the spectator with your thumb covering the bottom pip.

You have turned the cards around so all the suits will be different and therefore the chosen card will, of course, not be there! They will think that the face down card is their selection!
